Mrs. Janna Abernathy
earned her undergraduate degree from Washburn University and Master’s degree
from Baker University. Post graduate, she received her ESOL Endorsement from
the University of Kansas. Mrs. Abernathy began her education career as an
elementary classroom teacher for 12 years at State Street and Stout Elementary
School before transitioning to other educational roles, such as Instructional
Coach and Building Leader Intern within the district.
Mrs. Abernathy has spent 14 years
dedicated to Topeka Public School’s students and families. She is a passionate
educator who focuses on social-emotional health as well as academic wellness of
students. Mrs. Abernathy is focused on creating an atmosphere where
parents and staff work together to best meet the needs of students.
Mrs. Abernathy is a proud wife and
mother of two girls. She is a lifelong Topekan who enjoys spending time
with her family.
