Highland Park Central unveils new storm shelter and gym

Thanks to a $143 million bond issue voters passed in 2014, Highland Park Central Elementary School unveiled a new storm shelter/gym on Thursday afternoon.

Topeka Unified School District 501 administrators, board of education members, teachers and staff gathered at center court to celebrate the project's completion, which also included a new music room and enclosed walkway to the separate annex.
